Santa Maria della Salute in the rain

Last night there was a dry storm. The clouds gathered during the afternoon and then, as the sunset, the lightening began. The sky was lit up like a battleground with heavy blues greys and apricots that acted as a vivid backdrop to the flashes of silver. The thunder echoed through my hills, the only sign of rain was on my canvas. This is a second painting of rain in Venice, the sky is heavy with moisture, the closest I will get to rain this weekend.
